Each year in Middletown, N.Y., Magic-Ian held the magician of the year contest. Jeff always spoofed the magicians even back then.

Always serious before the joke, Jeff vanishes a small silk into a large foulard, only to reveal his secret helper in the next shot. The cool thing was that nobody ever saw the giant thumb during the vanish.
