LIFE WITH FATHER WAS A CHALLENGE

I happened to walk into an audition in progress and did not know what the play was. The director yelled across the auditorium as I walked to a seat and said I had the lead. I never opened my mouth.

I found out the name of the play and discovered it had a tremendous 300 lines and a few monologues. Plus, I had to dye my hair strawberry red and shave my beard.

I played 4 parts in that play: Charlie the politician, a reporter, Mr. Gimbel, and a Mail room guy. Each with a slightly different hat, coat, haircut and glasses and of course a different voice.
